The current U.S. unemployment rate stands at about a whopping 8.8%. Evidently, large portions of the population are looking for careers, but are ending with no success. There are, however, employers, specifically in the construction industry, that are currently seeking men and women who are interested in a career path in construction.
Graniterock is a high-quality building material Company with numerous branches across California. The Company is hosting the Fourth Annual Construction Career Day on Friday, May 6, 2011 at its A.R. Wilson Quarry in Aromas. This day is designed for Santa Cruz County high school students, and will highlight the many varied and interesting career paths the construction industry has to offer.
The Career Day is set to begin at 9am, where Bruce W. Woolpert, President and CEO of Graniterock, will address the students, followed by presentations from over 25 different professionals representing various construction and green building occupations. The day will conclude at 1:30 pm.
If a local high school student you know is seeking a career in the current job market, why not encourage them to take a look into the exciting world of construction? Graniterock’s 4th Annual Construction Career Day could provide a tremendous introduction to all the career choices available in that field.
