Graniterock Adopts ClickSafety’s Web Based Safety Program
Former Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Winner Implements in Record Time
ClickSafety, the leading provider of web based safety training for construction related industries, today announced Graniterock of Watsonville California has adopted ClickSafety’s web based safety training as part of their successful safety program.
As a winner of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 1992 and appearing as number 16 onFortune magazine’s best companies to work for,100 year-old Graniterock prides itself on finding the right balance of quality workmanship and care for its employees. With ClickSafety, Graniterock employees are now able to take ClickSafety’s standard course library, plus a suite of thirteen custom safety courses over the Internet using ClickSafety’s renowned interface and course delivery system. “We long ago decided that more of our training could be better done over the Internet and ClickSafety had a product that was already working in that venue,” says president Bruce Woolpert. “In 45 days we tailored thirteen of ClickSafety’s courses and were up live with over 800 employees.”
With the ClickSafety solution, Graniterock employees are now able to access its training programs over the Internet and provide easy access for its managers. With over 800 employees working in 21 remote locations the logistics of providing quality safety training was challenging. Access is now provided in every location so employees never go without training and managers can match job and staff needs. “In the past when we conducted classes for our employees inevitably someone would miss the class and we would have to schedule special make up courses. Now with ClickSafety we can assure that all the training is completed prior to an employee beginning work on the job site,” says Woolpert.
Ron Bruce, vice president of content for ClickSafety led the implementation efforts. With the standard ClickSafety courses as a backdrop along with the updates provided by Graniterock ClickSafety built a special safety library in English and Spanish. According to Bruce, “Graniterock is a very impressive organization. We were concerned with their aggressive schedule when we started but they dedicated the necessary resources and executed perfectly to get this project up on time.”
