Graniterock Receives National Recognition For Caring Company
Watsonville, CA—Graniterock has been selected by the Center for Companies That Care to be added to the Center’s highest level of recognition—the Honor Roll. The Center for Companies That Care is a national, not-for-profit organization, established in 2002 to encourage, celebrate and sustain businesses that prize employees and are committed to on-going community service. The announcement was made on Thursday morning, March 18, 2004, to coincide with national Companies That Care Day.
The Center uses a strict standard of acceptance to its Honor Roll based on ten characteristics of people and community involvement including a work environment founded on the dignity and respect for people; organizations that encourage people to develop their full potential; organizations that demonstrate concern for the well-being of people and their families; organizations that establish standards for and exhibit ethical behavior and integrity; and organizations that develop management skills which encourage growth in other people.
“The standards used by the Center for Companies That Care parallel much of the thinking contained in Graniterock’s Core Values and Corporate Objectives,” said Bruce Woolpert. “Being added to the Honor Roll tells us that from an objective perspective that we actually do what we say we’ll do and care about the things that we say we care about,” Bruce summarized.
In addition to Graniterock, this year’s Honor Roll recipients are:
