Graniterock's Quail Hollow Quarry Hosts Fundraising Event and Open House

Graniterock is hosting an open house and barbecue on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at its Quail Hollow Quarry in Felton.

The day will begin promptly at 10:00am with an open house at the Quail Hollow Quarry and the event will come to a close at approximately 2:00pm. The barbecue will benefit the Quail Hollow Ranch County Park. The cost for a full tri tip plate is just $10 with all proceeds going to the Park.

Representatives of Graniterock and the Santa Cruz County Planning department will be in attendance to answer questions about mining operations, conservation, and reclamation efforts in this unique quarry. Walking tours will be available. The press is welcome.

Graniterock was founded on Valentine’s Day, 1900, when its first operation, the A.R. Wilson Quarry, was opened in Aromas, and soon became a heavy engineering contractor. Its California Contractor’s License #22 demonstrates how long the Company has been in business. Graniterock’s Pavex Construction Division operates from area offices in Redwood City, San Jose, Oakland, and Watsonville, and performs large work such as highway or runway expansion projects, as well as commercial and residential projects.
