Local Company Hosts Fundraiser

Graniterock's Rock & Roll Poker Run in its Second Year

Graniterock’s ROCK & ROLL Poker Run benefiting San Benito County’s United Way will be Saturday, July 8, 2006. The ride will begin at Graniterock’s Southside Sand and Gravel Plant at 5632 Airline Highway in Hollister, as well as Graniterock’s Monterey Peninsula Plant, 1755 Del Monte Boulevard in Seaside, and the new Cupertino Design Center, 1505 S. De Anza Boulevard. The event will end at Graniterock’s A.R. Wilson Quarry with a delicious BBQ lunch, Quarry Tours and music. The suggested donation for this event is $20 or more, and will benefit the United Way of San Benito County.

Graniterock was founded on Valentine’s Day, 1900, when its first operation, the A.R. Wilson Quarry, was opened in Aromas and soon became a heavy engineering contractor. Its California Contractor’s License—#22—demonstrates how long the Company has been in business. Graniterock has recently opened a new Branch location in Cupertino on South De Anza Boulevard supplying construction building and landscaping materials. There are already plant or branch locations in Aromas, Felton, Hollister, Monterey Peninsula, Oakland, Redwood City, Salinas, Santa Cruz, San Jose, and So. San Francisco. Graniterock’s Pavex Construction Division operates from area offices in Redwood City, San Jose, Oakland, and Watsonville, and performs large work such as highway or runway expansion projects, as well as commercial and residential projects. The Company’s Corporate Offices have been located in Watsonville since 1900.
