National Stone Association Announces Employee of the Month
Graniterock's Ron Atkins
Ron Atkins of Graniterock’s Quail Hollow Quarry has been selected the National Stone Association’s Employee of the Month for August, 2000.
“Ron deserves to be Aggregate Industry Employee of the Month because of his outstanding contributions to the continued success of Graniterock,” says Jack Leemaster, Graniterock’s vice president and Aggregate Division manager. Quail Hollow is a 300,000-ton-per-year industrial sand operation. There, Ron designed and built a power screen system to produce #2 plaster sand, fully satisfying a special customer request.
Ron also serves as a consultant to the new manager at Graniterock’s A.R. Wilson Quarry in Aromas, CA, a 5 million-ton-per-year operation. His assisted in the transition at the operation and continues to contribute to the maintenance program. He is a leader in environmental matters and works with agency officials on plant, wildlife, and air quality issues.
