Quail Hollow Washed Sand
Washed Sand is produced at the Quail Hollow Sand Plant. It is surface mined at our Felton, CA location in the Santa Cruz Mountains. After extraction from the deposit with dozing equipment, industrial sand is dry screened and washed to remove silt and clay. It is then stockpiled, using loaders, and allowed to drain. Washed Sand is a light buff color—almost off white.
Washed Sand is a finely graded sand produced to become feed stock for industrial sand. Non-industrial sand customers use it for fill, top-dressing golf course greens, and as a base for laying brick and block. Washed Sand can also be used to fill between brick and paving stones.
Washed Sand is readily available and is produced daily. The data below are in percent passing.
